Two words: "FIRST PRINCIPLES".
Until folks can grasp and articulate the essential American Ideals, written in stone in the Jefferson Monument; until they can recapture the essence of the proper relationship between the individual, their Creator, and their governance - there will be no "fiscal" solution.

next election separate the ballot issues. We dont need an omnibus tax plan. if the taxes were clear and concise in their purpose, and they had a sunset clause, a lot of people would have voted yes.
ReplyDeleteIf we are going to foot the bill for a special election to recall rivera and smalls, why not try to squueze a save the city bus issue or a save the parks and recs issue on the same ballot? signatures would need to be gathered.

Indeed, why not?
Let the people decide for themselves.
Could this more direct form of Democracy be any worse than what we've experienced at the hands of LandCo Larry and his Royal UBS employer?
The purpose of "city bus" system is allegedly to provide transport to individuals who can't transport themselves.
Why can't that need be fulfulled via vouchers to be utilized in private enterprise and / or charity?
Why put private taxi/shuttle/bicycle rikshah drivers out of work via mandate of government Bus services they can't compete with? Doing so is not fair, and it's not American either.
